Velo Sound Station Continues to Bring Musical Treat For Fans



With the resounding impact and electricity generated with the debut episode of Velo Sound Station -the second, third and fourth episodes of this music venture equally mesmerized fans and audience.  

The platform has brought together original musical content that celebrates contemporary Pop culture and artfully mixes it with high fashion and drama to create audio-visual magic. With 152k subscribers on its associated YouTube channel and a speedily soaring fan following, the musical show featuring performances by veteran and emerging artists has become the talk of the town!

Velo Sound Station is produced by Bilal Maqsood and co-directed by Bilal Maqsood and Yair Jaswal.

Episode Two on Friday November 27th 2020 featured three original songs performed by iconic band STRINGS, AIMA BAIG and rising star SHAMOON ISMAIL.

Strings helmed by Velo Sound Station producer Bilal Maqsood and lead vocalist Faisal Kapadia performed the original  ‘Piyaar Ka Rog:’ which was written by Anwar Maqsood, composed by Bilal Maqsood, and produced by Usman and Haroon which had the band experiment with the contemporary genre of Synth Wave.

Aima Baig presented an original song entitled ‘Te Quiero Mucho (I  Love You So Much) written by Anwar Maqsood,  composed by Bilal Maqsood, and  produced  by Ahsen Pervaiz  which as its title suggests had a very lilting Latin feel and vibe to it.

Shamoon Ismaill performed a song called ‘Confetti’ written, composed and produced by the artist himself Shamoon rendered Confetti in his own quirky and individualistic style.

Episode three of Velo Sound Station on November 4th 2020 included Meesha Shafi, Uzair Jaswal and Sara Haider and Abdullah Qureshi.

Powerhouse vocalist Meesha Shafi renowned for her individualistic and edgy fashion choices as well as being a force for female empowerment paid tribute to iconic Nazia Hassan by performing on her dance club cover ‘Boom Boom’ a pop hit of 1982. 

Uzair Jaswal and Sara Haider recreate old world glamour in ‘Mere Dil Ne’ in episode three transported audiences from 80s Pop to Broadway and old world glamour. The romantic and endearing duet ‘Meri Dil Ne’ was written by Uzair Jaswal, composed by Bilal Maqsood and produced by Sarmad Ghafoor.

Singer, song writer and multi-instrumentalist music composer Abdullah Qureshi who earlier gained recognition from his covers on YouTube, performs a soulful romantic ballad ‘Tu Aaja’ whose yearning lyrics were penned by the legendary Anwar Maqsood and composition was done by Bilal Maqsood. The song was produced by Usman and Haroon.

Episode four continues to consolidate Pakistani Music by making it current and relevant, this time even more starkly implies by offering modernized versions of hits from the past was released on Friday December 11, 2020 on Velo Sound Station’s associated YouTube channel

Music fans experienced the episode’s opening act with music maestro Sajjad Ali in a new avatar reprising his own 1986 hit song ‘Dhuan’ which retains its original composition melody and lyrics by Sajjad Ali but is given a more upbeat, contemporary and “thriller” sound by music producers Usmaan and Haroon.

Episode four also included rock band Aag which was formed in 2006 by brothers Haroon and Usmaan Sheikh with the searing song about lost love ”Sun Zara’ composed by Bilal Maqsood with deep lyrics by the legendary Anwar Maqsood and produced in terms of arrangement by the two band members Usmaan and Haroon dressed in an austere futuristic look.

The third performance of episode four by versatile Aima Baig looking glam-chic in her second performance for Velo Sound Station performed “Bijli’ – an upbeat and electrifying Techno-thumping version of ‘Bijli Bhari Hai Mere Ang Ang Mein’ by music legend Naheed Akhtar, produced by Sarmad Ghafoor with the additional composition by Bilal Maqsood with new, revised lyrics by the magician wordsmith Anwar Maqsood.

The fifth and final episode of Velo Sound Station will be released today on November 18th 2020.

Delay in diagnosis can result in long term disability



An awareness seminar to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of arthritis was conducted at the Governor house Punjab, with joint collaboration of Arthritis Care Foundation and Scotmann Pharmaceuticals here in Lahore on Sunday 21 November.

The seminar was chaired by the honorable Governor of Punjab Chaudry Muhammad Sarwar, with awareness sessions conducted by chairperson Arthritis Care Foundation, Prof. Nighat Mir Ahmed, Co-chairperson Prof. Sumaira Farman Raja, and Co-chairperson and General Secretary, Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Saeed, and Dr. Saira E. A. Khan.

According to research done by the Arthritis Care Foundation with funding by World Health Organization, approximately 1 out of every 4th person is suffering from some kind of inflammatory joint disease.  If not diagnosed early, these conditions can result in long-term disability, like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. State of the art department of Rheumatology with international standards and equipment has been initiated at the Central Park Teaching Hospital, served by highly skilled and qualified specialists and staff. Central Park Teaching Hospital also provides free treatment services for deserving patients with the support of the Arthritis Care Foundation.


The seminar highlighted the role of Vitamin D, diet, and exercise for healthy bones and joints, arthritis in children, young and elderly, and the common causes of back pain.

Peng Salon celebrates Children’s Day, inviting Children Cancer patients for a Spa Day



This Children’s Day, Peng Salon & Spa, one of the leading hair & skin clinics in Karachi came up with a thoughtful initiative for children suffering from cancer. They invited these young cancer warriors from Indus Hospital for a Spa Day at the salon to mark Children’s Day celebrations. The children were treated with professional salon & spa services for a relaxing & refreshing experience.



Kaneez Fiza & Nafisa Dawood, Incharge at the Psychosocial department at Indus Hospital, who accompanied the children stated that the children were happy and it was an amazing experience for the children as well as their team at the Peng Salon. According to Kaneez, it was the first time for the children that they had visited a salon and they loved every bit of it and were overjoyed with the experience.

These children, fighting their battle against Cancer, are dreamers – full of innocence, hope and happiness. These little angels enjoyed the services of their choice at the salon and they were all smiles with the kind of pampering they were provided with. Services such as Haircut, hair styling, manicure, pedicure, makeup etc. were provided that made their day extra special.


After going through months of grueling treatment, giving these brave warriors such a day was a thoughtful initiative by Peng Salon. Arranging a Spa Day on Children’s Day for these young children to give them moments of joy and happiness was a wonderful idea by the team. Their aim to make these children feel valued, loved and special while helping them make cherishing memories.

Children were overwhelmed with the services they were provided and were all smiles as they left for the hospital again. Thumbs up to Peng Salon for initiating such a thoughtful activity to celebrate Children’s Day!
