The New Normal Sets The New Backdrop For E-Commerce



The Covid 19 pandemic that started in the beginning of this year has changed and introduced many ideas worldwide. Many new terminologies with their technical meaning are also becoming the components of our lives. The new normal has brought a lot that is going to change the course of our economic system. More relying on digital space this new phase of economy called e commerce never bloomed like it did in last six months.

Pakistan has also emerged as a country which is finding new ways for its shopping and discount lover citizens to get connected to their favourite brands. Loot Sale, a Pakistan based eCommerce startup  is a fashion marketplace listing original branded products aiming to bridge the gap between the consumers’ want of constant discounts and retailers’ need for fast inventory turn-over. Loot Sale has secured seed capital from Light Speed Ventures, a multi-strategy fund focused on the early-stage tech ventures. 

The brands’ motto, “Pay Less, Shop More,” is conveyed to the 220 million audience of the 5th largest nation of the world: everything on is at a discount, All Day, Every Day.

“Loot Sale goal is to build as a customer centric brand, providing original products, offering price-match guarantee and no-questions asked return policy. The website ( has launched with an inventory of over 400,000 units, and stock value of almost one billion rupees, said Malik Asad, the CEO Loot Sale.”

A brand awareness campaign across all mediums has already kicked off nationwide, he added.

With the official launch on 10.10.2020, Loot Sale has already partnered with over 75 fashion brands including BTW, Cross Stitch, Hop Scotch, Hush Puppies, LimeLight, Maria.B, Nishat, Orient, Stylo, The Linen Co, Zareen by Sapphire, just to name a few. The team forecasted to list over 20 lac products showcasing 150 brands by the end of December 2020.

The 18th edition of the country’s biggest bridal extravaganza, HUM Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW) happened in the City of Gardens on February on  4th, 5th and 6th February  2021.

Organized under the banner of Pakistan’s numero uno entertainment network HUM Network Limited, the event is considered a highest profile bridal show in Pakistan. This year, , PHBCW showcased 35 designers with Pantene as its title sponsor. The three-day bridal extravaganza had also an amazing line-up of celebrities walking for the designers.

Here is a little detail of each day’s collection and celebrities walked on the ramp.  


Show one of the day 1 of bridal gala kicked off with a special hair show by Pantene where the brand unveiled their new bottle. Models sashayed down the ramp showing off their shiny, bouncy, healthy hair. Film actor and brand ambassador of Pantene Maya Ali also walked the ramp.

Fahad Hussayn presented an avant-garde collection of custom made woven Banarsi bridal dresses with Sao Banjara – The Couture Edit, – Ushna Shah closed the show for Fahad Hussayn,

Uniworth Dress Co.’s groom collection The Luxe Edit celebrated brand’s 25th Anniversary. The father son duo Nauman Ijaz and Zaviyar Ijaz showstopped for Uniworth Dress & Co.,

Next was Nauman & Bhaiya who debuted with their bright lehngas and cholis in hues of scarlet with their collection Gurya. The gorgeous Nimra Khan walked the ramp for Nauman & Bhaiya.

Alishba and Nabeel’s Sakhiyaan was an ode to the bridesmaids who bring life, joy, colour and lifelong memories to the weddings. Affan Waheed and Hira Mani graced the ramp for Alishba & Nabeel.

Next in line was Naushad Imdad’s Subh e Nau (The Way Forward) inspired by Pak-western culture, using hand paint art and hand embroidery together in menswear. The debonair Salman Saeed walked the ramp for Naushad Imdad

Haris Shakeel with his collection Ghazal which drew its inspiration from the colours of poetry ended his show with Saboor Aly.

Madeeha Shoaib was next with her signature collection ‘The Enchanted Island’ inspired by marine life, encapsulating the true essence of haute couture. The gorgeous Sarah Khan and Falak Shabbir added grandeur to Madeeha Shoaib’s collection.

The day came to end with Munib Nawaz’s collection Sakal Ban which paid tribute to Ameer Khusro’s famous poem Sakal Ban. The collection presented love, joy and passion in the words of Amir Khusro. Usman Mukhtar showstopped for Munib Nawaz.


Show One on Day Two of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with ‘Mata-e –Jaan’ (Sweetheart) by ‘The House of Arsalan Iqbal’. The ceremonial collection was inspired by the 11th century Muslim culture of Granada. Ace designer Munib Nawaz walked the ramp for THOAI.

Ayesha Rehman’s Peony Dreams. Her collection incorporated timeless styles with modern cuts and applications. The stunning Ayesha Omer graced the runway for Rehman.

The next showcase was by Karismash by Ahson Shoaib with his Dastaan-e-Mohabbat collection which was based on the endless tales and endeavours of love and pain. Hira Mani showstopped for Ahson Shoaib.

Show One of Day Two came to a close with Tabya’s Khaas-Mahal, a collection which was a tribute to our diverse heritage from the Mughal Era and the artisans that have preserved the treasures of the craftsmanship for generations to come. Gorgeous Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani walked for Tabya Official.

Show Two started with the debutant Kashee’s collection Parihaan with beautiful patterns of embroidery, embellishments and motifs. Kashee had an array of artists walking down the ramp for the brand’s first showcase including Sana Fakhar, Fizza Ali, Shaista Lodhi, Sahiba, Alizeh Shah and Urwa Hocane.

This was followed by a special segment titled The Gentlemen’s Club featuring capsule collections of J., Almirah and Diner’s. The very charming Aijaz Aslam walked the ramp for J.

Day Two of PHBCW came to an end with Umsha by Uzma Babar’s Zeenat which embodied the poise, regality and grace a bride of today possesses. Umsha brought Pakistan television’s most followed and loved artists Imran Ashraf and Yumna Zaidi to close the show for her.


Show One on Day Three of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with the designer extraordinaire Ali Xeeshan’s Numaish. His collection was a pledge against the old-age tradition of dowry and an effort to educate today’s youth to say no to dowry.

This was followed by Sable Vogue Atelier’s Mussarat Sultana featuring exquisitely handcrafted renaissance pieces that were cut to perfection and intricately detailed in Swarovski, zari, tilla, marori, hand-worked pearls and Mukesh.

Next in line was Jermyn Street’s Shab-e-Vasl which was a fine blend of sequins, pearls, tilla, zardozi, dabka and embroidery. The dashing Muneeb Butt showstopped for Jermyn Street.

Ayesha & Usman’s Riwaayat showcased a harmonious blend of beloved tradition and timeless stories. The gorgeous Zubab Rana graced the ramp for Ayesha & Usman.

Show One of PHBCW concluded with One of Pakistan’s rising fashion brands, Nisa Hussain’s debut bridal collection. Her collection reflected the brand’s take on traditional sub continental bridal wear, infused with the designer’s signature silhouettes and embellishments. The legendary Arif Lohar performed for Nisa Hussain, whereas the evergreen Resham and the beautiful Hareem Farooq walked for the brand.

Show Two f Day three commenced with the Grand Couturiers’ segment featuring bridal dresses by Pakistan’s most loved designers Amir Adnan, Mahgul, Sania Maskatiya, Rizwan Beyg, Nilofer Shahid, Faiza Samee, Zara Shahjahan, Elan, HSY, Omer Farooq by Republic and Sana Safinaz.

Highlight of the segment was Azaan Sami Khan’s performance on his song Main Tera from his debut album by the same title, which is set to release under HUM Music on February 10, 2021.

Next was a special performance by the gorgeous Amar Khan and Hammad Shoaib on The Wedding Song of the Year by Telenor.

Ahsan’s Menswear was next to showcase his collection ‘Rive’r which was a culmination of bespoke fabric, prints and the designer’s master craftsmanship. The charming Azfar Rehman showstopped for Ahsan’s Menswear

The Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2020 came to an end with Zaha Couture’s Rashk-e-Qamar. The inimitable Khadijah Shah brought her signature design flair and opulent finesse to Zaha’s luxurious debut bridal collection. The finale for the day by Zaha Couture featured the sensational Sonya Hussayn as showstopper.

Hair and makeup for the show was done by N-Pro and N-Gents. All public relations operations and media liaison were carried out by the in-house team of the Special Projects & Events at HUM Network Limited in collaboration with Moiz Kazmi and his team at MK Digital PR.

Valentine’s Day Special | 5 Times Ali Zafar and Ayesha Fazli Gave Us Couple Goals



It’s Valentine’s Day 2020 and our favorite stars in Lollywood have given us a lot of couple goals. One such star couple that has made us go aww every time we see them are Ali Zafar and Ayesha Fazli. Ali Zafar and Ayesha Fazli have been married for over ten years now and the couple shares two beautiful children Azlaan and Alyza.

Ali Zafar and Ayesha Fazli met in the most romantic way possible: Ali was painting portraits in the lobby of a local hotel when Ayesha visited him to get a portrait made. It was then that sparks flew and Ayesha’s father, Ali Sibtain Fazli, who was also a noted film producer, took a liking to Ali Zafar. The romance continued and the two eventually got married in 2009 in a beautiful ceremony.

Ayesha Fazli is the Vice President of Ali Zafar Foundation and often joins Ali in humanitarian and charitable causes. They also revealed during an interview that they have a loving and understanding relationship that leads to a compatible and harmonious marriage. In an interview with a local host, the couple stated that they barely fight, usually reach on understandings easily and both are very well aware of each others’ quirks and idiosyncrasies.

There you have it, folks! It was tough to only narrow down five instances where Ali Zafar and Ayesha Fazli not only made Pakistan proud but also became an immense source of joy and love for each other and their families, but as Ali and Ayesha continue to be involved in various other exciting projects such as a possible sequel for Teefa in Trouble and the continued works of Ali Zafar Foundation, we hope that we will have plenty more to celebrate.
