Fashion Focus: Quiz Pk x Arham Qadir



This week we play dress up at Quiz Pakistan with blogger Arham Qadir. We styled four looks – Professional, Casual, Dinner and Party wear!

  1. Professional. Arham pairs a white collared body suit with rust flared pants and a Black pullover shrug and white pointy heels tie her entire look together.

2. Casual. Keeping it minimal chic, Arham paired a grey cross body sweater with a checkered scarf and black fur jacket. She went for the dark wash jeans and black high boots, making this the perfect casual look for winter days.

3. Dinner. Arham put together Black Culottes and a frilled body suit. Along wiht it she paired a faux fur beige coat making this look superb for a dinner or night out.

4. Party. Bling it on! Arham kept it sweet and simple with a black and gold sequin encrsuted floor length gown.

Anastasia Liquid Lipstick Ashton: This shade comes different on every person. It’s a brownish shade that is perfect for winters! It is super pigmented and lasts very long even if you eat. 

Mac Chili: This lipstick does not dry out the lips, stays on and looks chic at the same time! Keep things casual by wearing Mac chili lipstick along with some mascara.

Nars lip crayon Cruella: when in doubt, reach for red! You can never go wrong with a classic red lipstick especially in winters.

Hollywood’s Spring Madness



Spring is right around the corner and Fashion brands all around the world are gearing up to entrance us with their new and trendy designs, the titans of the Fashion industry have always seen spring as a bridge, one that connects summer and winter, which is why their work during this season is considered a flux of creative output. Here are a few designs you’ll definitely want in your wardrobe.

1. Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad tries its hands with interesting light floral prints; subtle yet enigmatic. Seems like the perfect thing to wear at a sunday brunch on the farm.

2. Versace

Ever since it was bought out Versace has diversified its portfolio while staying true to its roots. These abstract micro-floral designs can be seen as an accurate representation of Spring.

3. Chanel

This year Chanel has maintained the essence of Parisian fashion with a modern touch. Bringing back cashmere sweaters, with buckled handbags, Chanel successfully spins one into a chic French girl.

Balmain’s very own Rousteing has done it again; every time it feels as if he’s really outdone himself he knocks us out with another surprise.  He offers tribute in Spring to the Louvre and Egypt; hidden layers creatively embedded in his designs.

Giorgio Armani is really knocking it out of the park with their spring collection. It’s innovative yet not over the top, sublime yet ethereal. Their opaque aquatic themed designs are really a sight for sore eyes.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication; Burberry opts to embody that with their new clothes. Drawing inspiration from the British, Burberry pushes to bridge the gap between different cultures with inclusively fashionable composition.

7. Louis Vuitton

Thinking out of the box, Louis Vuitton’s Spring collection draws inspiration from “Sci-fi” rather than nature. Their new line seems both fashionable and comfortable at the same time. Simply awe-inspiring.

8. Saint Laurent

Unlike other brands on this list Saint Laurent pursues a more dark and formal theme for its spring collection. It’s designs are hauntingly enigmatic, easily grasping the attention of one’s eyes.

9. Prada

Prada goes for a representation of duality, putting togething conservatism and liberation. Even with one glance its apparent how empowering the designs are, overflowing with creativity.

10. Stella McCartney

Playful, flirtatious and athletic, influenced with Stella’s trademark attribute; a carefree spirit. These stylistic laid back clothes have hidden depths, imbued with elegance and beauty.

Sania Maskatiya wins international acclaim at New York Fashion Week



Pakistan’s leading fashion design house Sania Maskatiya returned to the prestigious New York Fashion Week (NYFW) platform with its Fall/Winter 2019. The collection was part of the Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers’ (CAAFD) long running tradition of introducing emerging designer showcases.

Maskatiya is the first Pakistani designer and design house to showcase officially at the NYFW platform, having debuted last year at NYFW S/S19 with its dedicated western wear line – Sania Studio.

Maskatiya showcased her F/W 2019 luxe evening wear collection on Tuesday. The collection was received with raving audience reviews. The energy and elegance of this landmark collection is encompassed through luxe fabrics in metallic shades and chic silhouettes.


Embodying elements both heritage and nouveau, this collection evokes a sublime subtlety featuring the signature Maskatiya intricate embellishments and fusion silhouettes.

In attendance at the show was Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in NYC Maleeha Lodhi among other New York based socialites and personalities.

CAAFD is known for its rigorous review process in choosing designers to showcase their work at NYFW and this is indeed big breakthrough for Pakistan’s fashion industry.


Maskatiya is best known for her specialised, versatile prints, textile design based on pure textures, exceptional hues and fine craftsmanship. The design house engages in some of the best craftsmanship in Pakistan, coming from generations of artisans who have specialised and perfected their craft. The brand is known for including rich textiles, fabric design and embroidery within their pieces. Maskatiya has quickly become Pakistan’s most lauded designer and most prized fashion export.


CAAFD is a non-profit organisation founded through a collaborative effort by a few key pioneers in the fashion industry with the ambitious goal of promoting designers who aspire to expand their brand awareness and do business in the US. CAAFD educates, promotes and empowers aspiring designers and fashion professionals in gaining a foothold in the fashion business, giving them every opportunity to become the renowned designer they yearn to be.
