Bilal Abbas Khan will be playing the lead role in a Patriotic telefilm Laal that is set to release on the 23rd of March.
This telefilm which will show Bilal Abbas Khan in a never seen before avatar as a Navy officer, has been written by Umera Ahmed and will be directed by Haseeb Hassan.
While talking about his role Khan said, “I don’t want to keep doing similar characters and with each project test myself as an actor. “Laal” is a completely new experience, and the character I am playing, Behram, is a sophisticated, patriotic guy with a dream to serve in the navy and will do anything for his country. He becomes a naval officer, and there’s a powerful connection to the stone ‘laal’ and the message this telefilm has.”
“I’m also very excited for this because it’s a tribute to Pakistan Navy, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of what we’re trying to make here,” Bilal Abbas Khan further added.
Along with Khan, Laal’s cast also includes, Kubra Khan, Adnan Jaffar, Gohar Rasheed, Saleem Meraj and Rashid Naz.
In a very short acting career, Bilal Abbas Khan has back to back blockbuster projects to his name, such as O Rangreza, Balaa and currently on air Cheekh – which have racked up audiences’ appreciation, critical acclaim and awards for the young actor.
Hoga Saaf Pakistan: A Great Initiative towards a Cleaner Society
Cleanliness is one of the key requisites of our daily routines. Without having a clean, hygienic environment around you, you are more prone to infections and diseases, environmental degradation and a general social boycott.
Hoga Saaf Pakistan (HSP) is a social initiative by Reckitt Benckiser, in an attempt to achieve a cleaner and greener Pakistan. Its key message of ‘Safai Nisf Emaan hai’ takes us back to the basics as Hoga Saaf Pakistan aims to improve health and hygiene all across Pakistan and aid the government’s campaign of Clean Green Pakistan through a focus on three main strands:
Sanitation is one of the major steps toward a clean surrounding. Safe sanitation ensures a good and healthy environment for humans and atmosphere alike. The most common place where this measure becomes vulnerable is the bathroom, and it is most frequently used as well. Products like Harpic are available widely in stores to ensure you get the level of hygiene your surroundings require.
HSP aims to promote awareness among the masses about personal hygiene. It is compulsory to follow certain habits as shown in the picture for better health and clean mind & body. Not just this, it is also necessary to ensure proper hygiene practices using good quality products, like Dettol that provides an anti-bacterial solution for the purpose of perfect cleanliness.
Solid Waste Management
There are many cities and villages in Pakistan that lack the basic solid waste management system. This is due to utter negligence from the authorities’ side. HSP understands this and has tried its best to educate people on the risks attached to a lack of proper waste disposal, and what steps they as individuals can take on their own to cater to this problem. It is a need of the hour to help the masses be aware of what kind of health hazards they face if their waste management is not at optimal level.
Hoga Saaf Pakistan’s target is to take charge of hygiene and sanitation practices within the citizens of Pakistan in three areas:
The most important aspect of cleaning oneself begins with ‘Handwashing’. Many diseases spread if hands are not washed with soap and clean running water.
Dettol provides a thorough and well-explained five steps procedure of hand washing:
- Wet hands with clean warm running water
- Apply a small amount of soap or 2 pumps of Dettol hand wash
- Rub your palms together (away from the water)
- Rub your fingers and thumbs and bits in between.
- Rub your nails on your palms.
- Rub the back of each hand.
- Rinse with clean running water.
Germs are everywhere! From the floor to the tiny nooks and crannies of your house, these germs are not health-friendly and cause serious problems if not tackled. HSP initiative is all about creating awareness and providing means to ensure a clean environment for future generations, starting from one’s own household.
We may see many people taking care of their houses, but these same people wouldn’t think twice before throwing rubbish outside their homes. Such practices are not just unethical but dangerous for a safe atmosphere. Hoga Saaf Pakistan has been trying its best to educate people on the etiquettes of non-littering and living acceptably in a social society without causing harm or discomfort to others or to the environment.
This initiative if taken seriously by our Pakistani citizens, has the potential to bring forth a huge change in our surroundings. On an individual level and as a team, we need to make an effort on our own first to bring about a revolution when it comes to cleanliness. It wouldn’t hurt to add a few lessons on this in school curriculums and start them young on this agenda.
Contribute your part in the drive and let us know your views about the initiative in the comments’ section. We look forward to your opinions.
