“This event is the most fantastic fitness event I have ever attended,” said Amber Saleem, who has recently started becoming conscious about her health and fitness. “I can’t believe the energy and crazy vibe in this room.”
The Dancethon event is the brainchild of the founders of AimFit Mahlaqa Shaukat and Noor Ul Hira Shaukat and the founder of Scaryammi Ayesha Nasir.
“At AimFit our aim is to make fitness more fun than it has ever been before,” said Mahlaqa Shaukat, CEO of AimFit. “We try and make workouts fun and exciting and our entire modus operandai is based on not having a boring workout.”
AimFit is one of the fastest growing fitness enterprises in the country with 4 operational locations with one in Islamabad. Danceathon is the first ever large-scale fitness event that AimFit has organized.
Scaryammi, which is only 4 months old, is a mothering platform, which has taken the parenting world by storm. The blog and community platform hold regular events that are targeted towards building a community of moms both online and on the ground.
“Scaryammi is all about adding real value to the lives of mothers,” said Ayesha Nasir, the Original Scaryammi. “For the entire month of March our theme is #fitammi and we are geared towards promoting fitness and wellness amongst mothers. The Danceathon event is the coming together of everything we believe in: an event dedicated to health and fitness for mothers.”
The Danceathon event is inspired by the GLOW & GO dance events that take place all over the world. Each participant of the Danceathon event received glow sticks and glow paint to heighten the excitement of the event.
“This event isn’t just about fitness and dance,” said Noor-ul-Hira Shaukat, the COO of AimFit. “It’s about having fun doing something that is exciting, invigorating and will get your heart pumping and muscles moving.”
For most of the contestants, the Danceathon is their first ever large-scale fitness event that ran almost like a dance marathon.
Naureen Bilal, who was super excited about the Danceathon and was practicing steps for a couple of days before, said this event had inspired her to focus on fitness.
“I have had so much fun dancing and doing this workout,” she said. “This is the most fun I have had in a very long time and that too while I was moving and grooving. What could be better?”
The exuberance of the event was visible from the word go. Festivities kicked off with the orange carpet, where interviews were being held by the always enchanting Sophiya Anjum. This was followed by dance madness in the hall where dozens of women were doing squats, moving their bodies and following the moves of the dance leaders on stage.
“I am having a blast,” said a breathless Mariam Ali, as she tried hard to follow the moves being done by Zahra Ahmed, the Program Lead for DanceFit on the stage. “This is so exciting and invigorating.”
The DanceFit ace team who lit up the stage with their moves, their steps and their energy choreographed the Danceathon dances and moves.
“We put together our coolest and most insane dance tracks to bring this event together,” said Mona, an instructor at AimFit and one of the dance leads on stage.

#Fitammi is a joined campaign being run by AimFit Official, the most progressive and fastest growing name in fitness in Pakistan and Scaryammi, an innovative and exciting parenting/ mommy blog which has started to create waves by providing a virtual and on-ground community for mothers.

The #Fitammi campaign is an initiative aimed to help mothers all over the country and across the world put their fitness first. “Studies after studies have shown that when women become mothers, they end up putting themselves second or third or last,” said Ayesha Nasir, The Original Scaryammi and founder of the group Scaryammi.

“Women need to prioritise their health and fitness because only healthy and fit moms can bring up healthy and happy kids.”The need to emphasise on fitness has become a matter of great national urgency because the increasing rates of obesity in children as well as the early onset of diseases such as Diabetes and High Blood Pressure points to how unhealthy lifestyles and eating habits is creating a situation of crisis.

“Women need to include some kind of exercise or fitness routine into their daily lives,” says Dr Shehla Akram, consultant nutritionist and doctor. “Every day I see women suffering health wise because they are not putting their health first.”The concept behind #fitammi is also to make exercise fun. “One of the reasons so many women and especially mothers are not showing up to gyms and for workouts is because the exercise is not fun,” said Mahlaqa Shaukat, CEO of AimFit.

“At AimFit we have turned workouts into something exciting, thrilling and just plain fun. The era of boring workouts is over.”AimFit offers a huge variety of workouts ranging from dance fitness classes to yoga flow to classes that focus on cardio and weights to a class focussed on helping women work with weights. “The aim at AimFit is always to make working out and being fit fun,” said Noor ul Hira Shaukat, the COO of AimFit. “That’s why #fitammi will work. Published

On 16th of March, Saturday, at 10:30 am a group of passionate and ambitious women are ready to make history. At the Nishat Hotel in Gulberg, the largest ever female-led fitness event will be taking place with almost 150 women grooving, dancing and moving to the tunes of tracks and songs especially prepared for the first-ever Danceathon – the title of the event itself inspired from the words Dance and Marathon. The Danceathon is a lot more than just a dance event! It’s a unique celebration of women’s day and is aimed at making a statement about women putting fitness first, putting health first, in short putting themselves first of everything else.

“This is going to be a landmark event in the history of fitness and women empowerment,” said Mahlaqa Shaukat, CEO of AimFit, a pioneering name in the field of fitness. With 4 operational locations including one in GardenTown and one in Rawalpindi, AimFit has quickly created waves with its revolutionary DanceFit classes and innovative programs such as HitFit, ComboFit, YogaFlow and HIITFIT. “This event brings together so much of what AimFit believes in from female fitness to women coming together for a cause to women putting aside everything else just to focus on themselves for a couple of hours.”

The Danceathon sold out about a week before the actual event, creating waves across the city and country with women all over tuning into their Instagram accounts to see what new tracks have been released.
This landmark event is being put together by AimFit and Scaryammi, a mothering blog which has created waves throughout Pakistan and beyond. The Original Scaryammi Ayesha Nasir met with AimFit’s Mahlaqa Shaukat at the Conference Of Inspiration in February and the seeds for danceathon were sown.

“The Danceathon embodies so much of what Scaryammi believes in,” said Ayesha Nasir. “It’s an event which celebrates ammis working together to create magic. It is also an event which is highlighting fitness for ammis and giving mothers across the city an opportunity to put their hair down and just dance.”

The primary sponsors for the Danceathon are Peak Sports and Olio Premium Oils along with Skin Studio and Milk Milk.
The orange carpet at the event is being hosted by RJ and renowned event host Sophiya Anjum while the lucky draw is being conducted by Sara Gundapur.

“I am super excited to be dancing on stage with ten of our best dancers and getting a room filled with more than one hundred women dancing and grooving in synch.” said NoorulHira Shaukat, the COO of AimFit. “I don’t think Lahore has ever experienced anything like it before.”
The team at AimFit has been working around the clock to prepare the most exciting tracks from the dancefit routines for this groundbreaking event.
Saadia Bandial, one of the participants of the Danceathon, says she has never been as excited about an event as she is about this one. “I have never ever danced in a group as large as this one and have also never been a part of glow and go activity. Super excited.”

Lahore stay tuned! The 16th of March is right around the corner.
